BATHTUB REFINISHING-REGLAZING

    WHAT IS REFINISHING:

  • Refinishing, also known as reglazing or resurfacing is the process of restoring the surface of bathtubs, sinks and countertops to a like-new condition. This process involves cleaning, etching, repairing any damaged area and spraying multiple coatings of epoxy resin and acrylic finish to the prepared surface.
  • The process takes between 4-6 hours for most tubs and sinks but can take longer depending on the job.
  • The coatings are sprayed on so a window or door is needed to run a ventilation hose to the outside to remove over spray and odors of the material being used.
  • After job is done, it will need 24-48 hours of curing time.
  • For children, pets or family with respiratory sensitivity, it is highly recommended but not necessary to leave while the job is being performed.

Pool and spa resurfacing

WHAT IS POOL/SPA RESURFACING:

Pool/spa resurfacing is the process of renewing the interior surface of a swimming pool or spa by removing the old material and applying a new layer of fiberglass . 

Resurfacing involves repairing any cracks, cleaning, sanding or grinding the existing surface so the new finish can be applied. The new finish is done by applying a new layer of water and chemical resistant resin and fiberglass.

REINFORCEMENT

WHAT IS A REINFORCEMENT:

When a bathtub or shower pan most of the time fiberglass, has a cracked or damaged floor, water can get through to the sub-floor damaging the wood, making the floor unstable and putting at risk all supports. If the cracked or damaged area is minor the reinforcement can be done with construction foam and a new layer of resin and fiberglass. if the damage is major then the floor needs to be cut out, the sub-floor cleaned and filled with cement, making a solid, stable and more durable base even stronger than the original floor. After the cement cures, a fiberglass and resin layer is then applied. curing time is between 24 and 48 hours depending on the job

LOW-PROFILE ENTRANCE

WHAT IS LOW PROFILE ENTRANCE:

A low profile entrance is done by cutting a portion on the side of the bathtub and adding a ready to install kit or making one from fiberglass. This job can be done to almost any bathtub porcelain or fiberglass. Process takes between 4-6 hours and needs to cure for 48 hours.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS:

  • A Very safe way to enter the bathtub specially for our elders, it is also an easy way to get out since they don't have to go over the high edge of the original tub

  • Minimizes the risk of falling causing potentially serious body injury

  • Being a low profile, it doesn't let the tub hold too much water minimizing the risk of drowning.
